Unlike the nostril, the septum is exposed to fewer bacteria and is known to be a quick healer. Doig recommends giving this area eight to ten weeks to heal.

Below are approximate healing times for healthy piercings—for most people. Your piercing may heal more quickly or take even longer. Continue suggested aftercare for at least the amount of time listed below for your piercing.
Rhino. This piercing is usually through the nose cartilage and takes up to 9 months in healing. It is because it is in one of the busy areas around the nose. This disruption and distraction will often cause increased movements around the piercing.
How long a piercing takes to close when you want it removed depends on its location and your body and how long it’s been there (older piercings generally take longer to close). Each person also heals differently so an accurate rate is difficult to predict.
