The British American Drama Academy (BADA) was founded in 1983 by Tony Branch and Carolyn Sands, based upon an idea they developed whilst living in La Jolla, California in 1982. Its goal is to enable students from around the world to study classical theatre with leading actors and directors of the British theatre.

Here, students develop their skills in the acting process, analysis, and critical thinking, which will also help to meet the challenges of applying for college or drama school. The 2024 Midsummer Conservatory Program will run 13 July – 2 August.
The Oxford School of Drama is a world-leading conservatoire providing professional training in the form of a Three Year Acting Course and One Year Acting Course. We also offer a Six Month Acting Foundation Course and a NEW Six Month Acting with Musical Theatre Foundation Course.
The BADA Midsummer in Oxford (MIO) programme, based in Magdalen College in Oxford University, is designed for serious actors over the age of eighteen and focuses on British acting techniques with an emphasis on Shakespeare. Participants work and live alongside the faculty in Oxford.
