15 lis 2023 · USDA’s Plant Hardiness Zone Map is the standard by which gardeners and growers can determine which plants are most likely to thrive at a location. The new map—jointly developed by USDA's Agricultural Research Service (ARS) and Oregon State University's (OSU) PRISM Climate Group—is more accurate and contains greater detail than prior versions.
Zone 6 covers the south of mainland Finland, Sweden north of 60°N, and the high plateau of Småland further south. Here one will find cities such as Gävle, Örebro, Sundsvall, and Helsinki. Åland, as well as coastal southern Sweden, and the Stockholm area are in zone 7.

The USDA hardiness zone map is updated every 10-12 years, with the last update in 2012. So, the new map should be up sometime in 2023 or 2024. If you’re unsure if you’re actually in zone 7, you can enter your zip code into the USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map website.
