With the 1900 hovering around a hundred bucks now, it's kind of a no brainer...it's one of those great values that come along only once in a while. 55 watts, over 200 memories. Excellent transmit audio. Decent display and controls. Useable mic. Nice hot receiver. What's not to like? Well, the receiver ain't the only thing that is "hot."
11 gru 2016 · The FT-1900 was my first mobile. It didn't stay in the vehicle very long because of what I consider its single biggest flaw: It's not dual band. I replaced it with an FT-7900 which was replaced by an FTM-100.
In summary, if you need a small, modestly powered, under-dash-mount mobile radio, the FT-1900R works well and is a good buy now with the rebate deal being offered. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. I am a self admitted Yaesu freak. So it really hurts me to rate this rig with a 0.

Yaesu’s tiny 2 meter mobile rig comes with many features including: 200 Memories (6 Char limit) + 8 Memory Banks; Max 55 Watts Output; APO/ARS/BCL; DTMF; CTCSS/DCS; CW Trainer; and many more.. RX/TX coverage is from 136 to 174Mhz and seems to have quite nice RX sensitivity. Radio requires 13.8 VDC when running at full steam (11A).
