DVDX (sometimes formatted as DVDx) is a homebrew application that installs a hidden "channel" which was used by other homebrew applications to access home burned and factory pressed DVD content without the need for a modchip. It was named after its original title ID, DVDX.

The only thing left of the Wii’s ability to play DVD movies is the unused disc channel graphic. There is no hidden DVD player software in the Wii. You’d need a homebrew app like WiiMC, but then you need a Wii old enough to have a drive that is unlocked and can accept the DVD Video format.
5 paź 2024 · #1. I am making this thread so that we might be able to get DVDs back on the Disc Channel, as well as for educational purposes. Here is the download link to the project! The Wii could originally read DVDs from the Disc Channel, it just needed a few things. (1) patched .brlyt to show and center DVD .tpl.
