Wankel engines in auto racing are operated at speeds up to 10,000 rpm, but so are four-stroke reciprocating piston engines with relatively small displacement per cylinder. In aircraft, they are used conservatively, up to 6500 or 7500 rpm.
Nearly all Mazda production Wankel engines share a single rotor radius, 105 mm (4.1 in), with a 15 mm (0.59 in) crankshaft offset. The only engine to diverge from this formula was the rare 13A, which used a 120 mm (4.7 in) rotor radius and 17.5 mm (0.69 in) crankshaft offset.
The 13B engine is widely known Mazda Wankel engine. It was produced over 30 years and offered for many Mazda's models including the RX-7 - legendary Japanese sports car. This Mazda rotary engine has a two-rotor design like its predecessor the 12A .

21 maj 2018 · The rotary delivers power linearly all the way to 7,000 or 8,000 RPM, depending on engine specifics, and that flat power band sets it apart from rev-happy piston engines that too often pour on...
15 kwi 2010 · The Wankel engine uses the explosion to push the side of the triangular rotor, which forces it to rotate. That means there's no need for any other parts to convert the pull-push movement into a...
