A VVI pacemaker stimulates and senses in the chamber and if it senses spontaneous ventricular activity (R-wave), it does not stimulate. If the ventricular rate is slower than the base rate, then the pacemaker will pace.

7 sie 2023 · To facilitate the use and understanding of pacemakers, a standardized classification code has been developed. Most patients can be managed with one of three common modes (AAI, VVI, or DDD), with or without rate responsiveness.
A discussion of pacemaker modes (e.g. VVI, DDD, etc...) and settings (timing cycles, sensitivity, output, mode switching). #pacemakers #electrophysiology #cardiology.
30 cze 2015 · Put the pacemaker in a VVI, AAI or DDD mode (i.e. endogenous cardiac activity should inhibit the pacemaker. Change the rate to one which is much lower than the patients native rate. Change the output to whatever the minimum setting is; you would not want to get an R on T phenomenon.

The retrograde wave front (ventriculoatrial conduction) is sensed on the atrial channel, which then triggers ventricular pacing at the end of the programmed AV interval. Each ventricular-paced beat conducts retrogradely, setting up a circuitous pacemaker-mediated tachycardia.
11 gru 2022 · Pacemaker Types and Systems. Pulse Generators: These are the "battery" component of the pacemaker, which normally produces the electrical activity required to transmit to the heart musculature. Pulse generators are currently placed most commonly in the infraclavicular region of the anterior chest wall.
