28 maj 2024 · One can draw an unmistakable through-line from Richard Vandersteen’s 1977 garage-built experimental speaker to today’s flagship Model Seven XTRM reviewed here. That garage project, which became the Vandersteen Audio Model Two, was an instant classic and went on to become the best-selling audiophile speaker of all time.
I enjoyed Michael Fremer's excellent review of the new Vnadersteen Model Seven loudspeakers but I do have few questions.1) In the review Mr. Fremer tells how Richard Vandersteen came all from California to New Jersey to help Mr. Fremer set up the speakers.
As the Mk.II Model Seven loudspeaker differs only in detail from the original Model Seven, I refer you to the measurements sidebar that accompanied Michael Fremer's review for the overall picture. I performed only a few measurements on the updated version.

All this in a room-friendly package -- a tapered and beveled shape just 44"H x 14"W x 20"D that’s visually much more compact than the 5A -- that makes the Model Seven a "real-world" dream for audiophiles, their spouses, and interior designers alike.
