Unable to find uuencode and uudecode command. Resolution. The uuencode and uudecode command comes with sharutils package. On Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, install this package by using up2date command. # up2date sharutils On Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, & Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 install this package by using yum command.
The uuencode and uudecode files are not in /usr/bin. I tried copying them from another server but I receive an error: /lib64/tls/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found when we try to run it. It appears that I may need to install the sharutils.rpm but I am not sure which one to download?

The search service can find package by either name (apache), provides (webserver), absolute file names (/usr/bin/apache), binaries (gprof) or shared libraries (libXm.so.2) in standard path. It does not support multiple arguments yet...
