While fab is going to be a significant part of my undergrad, I want to move away from it to the design element of the semiconductor industry. My question is: does it make any sense to work for a couple years (2-3) after graduation with one of these companies like Micron or TI, or should I go right to grad school?
My university had a 1 micron fab from the late 90s. There was a class where you could either design a simple opamp or pseudorandom digital sequence generator, and have silicon returned for test within the semester.
