If you are deciding between either a Lincoln Mkx with a toyota Highlander that is not a fair comparision for either. If you like the Mkx you should look at a Lexus Rx350, Cadillac Srx, Acura Mdx, and etc. If you like the Highlander you should look at the Ford edge, GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook, Mazada CX-9, and Honda Pilot.

Using the Toyota site with MSRP of $61476, 36 months, 63% and .00305 the calc I’m coming up with is $937 per month. The Toyota site is showing $1058. I didn’t include any tax or fees because the Toyota site says it’s not included in the #’s shown.

I would like to bring to my local mechanic (toyota certified) for a tune-up/service. My understanding is Toyota recommends the timing belt at 90k and I'll probably have the water pump done as well.

The Lexus has 3 more ft-lbs of torque which is negligible. The Lexus curb weight is 4090 lbs while Highlander Limited is 4321 lbs, so the Toyota may get worse mileage in the real world due to the extra weight, despite the EPA estimates. The Lexus awd has a viscous center differential while the Toyota's is mechanical.
I have a 2008 Highlander Limited and would like to get a topper gear carrier. I have the side bars but no cross bars. What would the forum recommend I get - the Toyota crossbar or some other (e.g. Thule, Yakima)? If something other than the Toyota part, please make a specific recommendation. Thanks for your advice!
