Welcome to the online Receiver of Taxes office. This office collects taxes for Nassau County, the Town of Hempstead, 99 special districts, and 33 school districts and disburses the monies to school district treasurers and other districts without charge.

The Town of Hempstead Receiver of Taxes Credit Card and Electronic Check Payment Systems. Tax bills are issued twice a year, once in January for the General Tax Bill, and once in October for the School Tax Bill. You can view the 2024-2025 payment schedule on the graphic to the right:

The Town of Hempstead now offers taxpayers the option of having their property tax bills delivered electronically via email, instead of through the U.S. Mail. Taxpayers also have the option to continue receiving paper tax bills in addition to receiving e-Bills.
