Our Story. In 2009 a group of friends began a discussion that would lead to the formation of a new faith community, The Park Community Church. There was a mutual feeling that San Antonio didn’t need another church. San Antonio needed a different kind of church. We held our first meeting at the Austin’s house.
The Park is a church community in San Antonio. The Park DNA is comprised of three building blocks: Passion, Compassion, & Wisdom. The Passionate Pursuit of God. Each of us is hard wired by God to long for spirituality, to ask the question is there more? We believe the pursuit of God is a life long quest, one we are individually called to.
We are a non-denominational church that believes in the authority of the Christian scriptures for our life and practice. We hold to the essential orthodox Christian beliefs as best expressed in the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed, as well as the Evangelical Statement of Faith.
The Park Community Church is a non-denominational church that currently meets at Oak Meadow Elementary School in north-central San Antonio. Oak Meadow is just a building where we meet on Sundays; the church is people, not programs or buildings.
