The Buggles are an English new wave band formed in London in 1977 by singer and bassist Trevor Horn and keyboardist Geoff Downes. They are best known for their 1979 debut single "Video Killed the Radio Star", which topped the UK Singles Chart and reached number one in 15 other countries and was chosen as the song to launch MTV in 1981.
Buggles (także The Buggles) – brytyjski zespół grający muzykę nowofalową, powstały w roku 1977. W skład zespołu wchodzili Trevor Horn (gitara basowa, gitara, perkusja, wokal), Geoff Downes (perkusja i klawisze), Bruce Woolley oraz Hans Zimmer.
Grał przez pewien czas na kontrabasie w big bandach jazzowych i produkował płyty mało znanych artystów, następnie stworzył zespół Buggles, z którym nagrał przebojową piosenkę Video Killed the Radio Star. W 1980, wraz z innym byłym członkiem Buggles – Geoffem Downesem, dołączył do grupy Yes.
Horn gained fame in 1979 as a member of the Buggles, who achieved a hit single with "Video Killed the Radio Star". He was invited to join the progressive rock band Yes, becoming their lead singer.
