While it’s often mistaken as part of Cape May Point, Sunset Beach is located in Lower Township, at the very end of Sunset Boulevard. Here you can find miniature golf, shopping, a grille (open in season), and the wrecked SS Atlantus —an experimental concrete ship (yes, concrete!) that ran aground during a storm in 1926.
A must-see in Cape May! Beautiful sunsets, the SS Atlantus, Cape May diamonds, memorial benches, and a few gift shops. Parking can be tough- I prefer to come when it's quiet. Unfortunately, I've never made it for the memorial service. If you're in Cape May, worth a trip!
