San José adopted a Vision Zero transportation safety initiative in May 2015 to end fatalities and reduce severe injuries caused by traffic collisions. San José identified Story Road as a Vision Zero Priority Safety Corridor because of the high number of fatal and severe injury crashes.
As part of the 2024 pavement maintenance program, the City will make changes to Story Road between King Road and Capitol Expressway. The project will include the following improvements: Repair the pavement. Refresh the striping. Add a new protected bikeway between King Road and Jackson Avenue.

25 lip 2024 · Story Road Night Market will take place on Friday, July 26, and Saturday, July 27, from 4–10 p.m., in the Grand Century Mall’s (1111 Story Rd., San Jose) western parking lot — the side adjacent to Vietnam Town. Both parking and admission are free.
