If you are a full-time employee of an SDRS participating employer, you are required to participate and make contributions to the South Dakota Retirement System. Full-time employees are those customarily working at least 20 hours per week and six months per year.
The South Dakota Retirement System administers pension and other benefits for 462 employers including the state and employees of school districts and other participating political subdivisions. The South Dakota Investment Council manages the assets of the System.
