Sony's Sound Forge is one of the best-known stereo editing packages around, and version 9 brings a new world of multi-channel editing possibilities. However good your DAW is at tweaking and trimming audio files, sophisticated audio editing is not really what a MIDI + Audio sequencer is really about.

With Sound Forge 9, Sony Creative Software (formerly Sony Media Software) has finally delivered the goods on multichannel.

We last looked at Forge in 2005 with version 8 (see the May 2005 issue of RAP), which added audio scrubbing, ASIO and VST support, and flexible keyboard mapping.
two favorite electronic albums (Untrue and Immunity) both used Sound Forge in the production, to get an unquantized and loose type sound in their beats and structure. Err what? You're right to look for an older version: the Sony versions add nothing but adware.
1 cze 2007 · The multichannel recording and editing features of Sound Forge 9.0 won’t have you tossing out your copy of Vegas or Audition. Nor is the new Forge as flexible in multichannel mode as say, Wavelab, whose Montage function allows elements on tracks 3 and up to be slid and shuffled easily against tracks 1 and 2.
