Traditionally, the Kilger leather factory was a classic pit tannery specialising in sole leather. As leather has been increasingly replaced by substitutes for shoes over the decades, we have moved into other niche areas over the years and have developed our production accordingly.
The only shoemaker with its own sole leather tannery, the manufacturer takes time to do its job at the heart of the Tannerie Bastin in Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat. Here, a few kilometres from Limoges, is where skin becomes leather.
Dusini. In 1830, the Dusini family founded their tannery in Cles, Trentino. The tanning output is vegetable sole leather and they have adapted their production to the ever changing markets. During the 1980s the tannery opened a factory in the Montegranaro region of Italy for the sole production.

Kilger is located in Viechtach in east Germany, close to the Czech boarder, and also was an oak bark sole leather tannery back in the days.
