Sir Graves Ghastly was a character created by Cleveland-born actor Lawson J. Deming (1913–2007) for the popular television show of the same name. Sir Graves was a vampire whose persona, look, and exaggerated laugh ("Nnnnyeah-ha-ha-ha-haaaaaaaaah!") were intended to parody the cliched portrayal of vampires in horror films of the time.

Lawson J. Deming (April 23, 1913 – April 24, 2007) was a radio and TV character actor best known in Detroit, Toledo, Cleveland, Washington, D.C., and parts of Canada as the Saturday afternoon television horror movie host "Sir Graves Ghastly."

We had over 1000 people out this weekend to celebrate the Detroit horror host’s legacy and watch three great Frankenstein films. Thanks to David the work is now a permanent fixture in our inner lobby.
