The school year in Poland starts in September and ends in June. Within each school year, there are three major holiday seasons (winter, spring and summer) as well as a Christmas break in late December each year.
Each country’s government determines the dates and duration of school holidays — and these are completely independent of school holidays in other countries (there are huge differences even among neighbouring countries within the European Union).
School Term 3. Monday 22 nd July. Friday 27 th September. Holidays. Monday 30 th September. Friday 11 th October. School Term 4. Monday 14 th October. Friday 20 th December (at the latest) for all schools.

Locally recruited teachers will start working on the first working day in September, that day being used for the General meeting, extraordinary Class Councils (appeals), testing of pupils etc. The school year must consist of 180 working days for pupils (181 in leap years).
