Sengelmann Hall is a fully restored 1890’s Texas dance hall, complete with a restaurant, saloon and biergarten, located in historic downtown Schulenburg, TX. Until it closed in the 1940s, Sengelmann Hall was known as the Two Brothers Saloon, and it stood as a cultural hub in downtown Schulenburg.

17 kwi 2017 · Sengelmann Hall reopened in 2009, the same year it was added to the National Register of Historic Places, and Texans are once again crowding the longleaf pine dance floor, helping rejuvenate Schulenburg’s once-sleepy downtown.
One of the more elegant establishments was the Two Brothers Saloon in downtown Schulenburg in Fayette County. Built by Charles and Gustav Sengelmann in 1894, the two-story, high-Victorian brick building housed a saloon on the first floor and a dance hall on the second.
Sengelmann Hall has been restored beautifully, reminiscent of its golden days. The atmosphere and music here is about the best you'll find in the tiny town of Schulenburg, so it's worth a stop. I wasn't really in the mood for an actual entree, so I got an order of Nacho Fries and an order of Fried Pickle Chips.
A survivor of the 1893 fire that burned the western half of the block, the Sengelmann Brothers dance hall is a large two-story brick building with a limestone base and detailing and a cast-iron storefront. The ground floor was historically a saloon and local distributor for Anheuser-Busch beer.
