Even if a RTX 5070 is 15-20% under the performance of a 4090 (like the OG 4070 was to the 3090), Nvidia will gate keep all the newest features from the 4090 to narrow the gap between them. The RTX 4090 will be worth whatever the 5070 costs.
21 kwi 2023 · Anyone saying either one is better than the other for certain display types is slightly misinformed. Displayport 1.4a (which is what the 4090 has) can do 32.4GB/s while HDMI 2.1 can do 48GB/s. DP 1.4a also has display stream compression. This is what allows it to do 4k120 with HDR.
The difference is small, but so is the difference between PCIe 4.0 at 8x and 16x. You can check the video below for a comparison. PCIe 3.0 at 16x is basically PCIe 4.0 at 8x. IMO this is currently the main benefit of 4.0, that you can run it in 8x mode with almost no performance hit.
By leaks, Rtx 5000 series wont be powerfull uplift like Ampere-Ada. 5090 will be maximum 50% faster then 4090. Entry level and midrange uplift will be minimal, like 5-10%. Source is Moore's law is dead. I think you did a good job and forget about gpu market for at least 3 years. Also, at 1440p there is a cpu bottleneck on the 7800x3d.

17 lis 2022 · Gigabyte Gaming OC - +150 on core, +1,700 on memory 100%+ voltage, 133% power limit. Card hits ~3045mhz and will come down a little bit after it gets above 60c but generally stays above 3000. I think card probably has more in it, very casually tuned. Gainward rtx 4090 phantom 3045-3060mhz all time.

In any situation where you compare them 1v1, a 4090 wins over a 3090. In tasks that can utilize 2 cards, dual 3090 wins. If you can effectively make use of 2x3090 with NVlink, they will beat out the single 4090. 23 wrz 2022 · I found the smallest/shortest RTX 4090 like you said "Air Cooled" 😉. MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X OC. Dimensions 322 x 136 x 62mm !!! Going off the Nvidia site specs that it lists under the 4090, it’s says the length is 304mm with a width of 137mm, I’m guessing the height is 61mm as it just says “Slots”.
