24 kwi 2010 · As the IconCache is a hidden file, you need to enable “Show hidden files” option to see the same. To do this, head over to Tools > Folder Options , switch to View tab, and finally enable Show Hidden files, folders, and drives option.
If your icons have disappeared right click your start menu and choose the icons you want on your desktop. If your icons have been hidden, on an explorer window, click Organise --> folder and search options --> View menu --> Select the 'SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS' and click apply.

4 lip 2013 · All of my desktop icons seem to have disappeared, although they are in the Desktop folder. However, if I click the Show Desktop button in the taskbar, they show up again. But, if I go into any other window, they disappear again!

13 lut 2015 · For the Taskbar, a simple solution is to change icon size. Right-click the Windows Start icon on lower left corner of screen. Select Properties, then Taskbar. Uncheck "Use small icons." Icon bitmaps will be restored. However, this doesn't cure mangled icons in Explorer.
