Good remastering example: Loop’s reissues in the late 00s. Original CDs were alright, but lacked a lot of details, while an album like Heaven’s End (already a treble-heavy album) had virtually no bass. Remasters are a vast improvement.

Remastered vs Original. The consensus appears to be that only SOME CDs/Vinyl tend to sound better after remastering, while others are best listened to as original recordings (due to the Loudness War and what not). With regards to 60s/70s classics (i.e. Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Beach Boys), which do you guys prefer?

Since the mid-1980s and the explosion of CD sales, classic (and not so classic!) albums have been repackaged and remastered for new generations of fans to discover afresh or existing fans to rediscover. But nowhere on those stickers or in those brackets does it explain what remastering actually is.
