So in summary, how fast do RC planes go? Off-the-shelf RC Planes can do anything from 30 mph to 150 mph, depending on their design, construction, and type of engine. To achieve even higher speeds, specialist designs, and engine types need to be used – the current RC Plane speed record is 465.544 mph ( 749.221 km/h).
Welcome to RCSpeeds.com, the site designed to serve pilots who strive to fly radio control models fast. RCSpeeds will recognize your achievements in Dynamic Soaring. World speed records, dates, planes and locations can be posted for any pilot.
20 sty 2021 · Strong Santa Ana conditions on Jan 19 2021 provided enough wind for Spencer Lisenby to bring the dynamic soaring speed record back to its birthplace of Parker Mountain, CA. Wind gusted to 65mph...
22 sty 2021 · Three days ago, California’s Spencer Lisenby shattered that record by piloting an RC plane to an astounding speed of 548 MPH, but their plane lacked one important feature: an engine powering...
A radio-controlled aircraft (often called RC aircraft or RC plane) is a small flying machine that is radio controlled by an operator on the ground using a hand-held radio transmitter.
The Mach Initiative aims to break this record, by designing an aircraft that will reach speeds exceeding 570 MPH (Mach 0.75) at sea level. In compliance with the requirements of the record, the aircraft must take off, and fly through a 35m high, 400m long timing track in alternate directions before landing, refuelling, and repeating.
27 sty 2024 · Remote control planes average a speed of 80 – 120 mph, but specialized models can soar at speeds up to an astonishing 564 mph. Engine type, drag, and thrust are major factors that determine the speed of RC planes with higher kv motors and smaller propellers usually leading to greater speeds.
