RAM engines are converted from Subaru automobile engines and are built and marketed by RAM Performance, Ltd. of Clinton, Ohio. Most Subaru conversions require reduction of propeller rpm from that of engine rpm; i.e., a Propeller Speed Reduction Unit (PSRU).
26 cze 2004 · No airplane engine ever has cruised at 6k rpm. It is so rare to ever get a propeller driven engine above 2800 rpm. The never exceed rpm on most single engine Cessnas is 2900 rpm. The little experimentals that people are putting ea's in certainly don't turn 6k.
26 cze 2004 · I have the Ram Dual intake EA81 heads with stainless oversized valves, bronze guides and HD springs with only 25 hours of use. I also have the Ram custom Aluminum Dual intake with a like new Weber 38 carb.
19 mar 2012 · RAM Performance. Founder Ron Carr’s Subaru conversions are built in-house using proprietary parts including lightweight forged pistons, stainless-steel valves, bronze guides, and a one-coil-per-plug electronic ignition that’s cockpit adjustable and doesn’t require a computer.
13 lut 2013 · The Subaru presents a couple of challenges that are very difficult, if not impossible, for a small company to overcome. It is a small displacement, high revving engine so it requires a Propeller Speed Reduction Unit (PSRU, gearbox, reduction drive, etc…).
16 mar 2011 · Stratus 2000 and RAM Performance offer the same price advantage as Eggenfellner engines, with the smaller 2.2- and 2.3-liter engines, and almost every firewall-forward manufacturer will sell its PSRU separately. A newcomer to the Subaru arena is Bud Warren of Geared Drives.
