Air pollution has been an ongoing problem in many countries in the Southeast Asia region, and Malaysia is one of the worst affected. Haze has been a major issue for the country, driven by slash and burn practices by farmers and peat fires blown by the wind from Indonesia.
We looked into air pollution–related studies in Malaysia and compared them with the global trends in the fields of air quality evaluation, prediction, vehicle emissions, spatial distribution of air pollutants and the important issue of haze and transboundary air pollution.
1 cze 2003 · The three major sources of air pollution in Malaysia are mobile sources, stationary sources, and open burning sources. For the past 5 years, emissions from mobile sources (i.e., motor vehicles) have been the major source of air pollution, contributing to at least 70–75% of the total air pollution.
