Object Description. Used for athletics (originally women athletics), health education, and contains a swimming pool. The building was named for Mary Beaver White, sister of Governor James A. Beaver; wife of Rev. John W. White, early university chaplain; mother of distinguished alumni James G. White and W.M. White.
An active membership is required for anyone to enter a Campus Recreation facility (IM Building, White Building, Hepper Fitness Center, McCoy Natatorium). Patrons will swipe their valid Penn State ID+ or Campus Recreation Membership card upon entering each facility.
Student Organization Reservations. Campus Recreation hosts a number of student organizations in the White Building, Tennis Center, McCoy Natatorium, and in outdoor field spaces and Stone Valley Recreation Area.
White building is less crowded than IM building. White has good equipment and a good atmosphere to workout in my opinion. Nice open floor for benching, squatting, deadlift, and free weights.
