Palgwe #8 Pal Jang Poomse is the foundation for the teaching of Taekwondo. A poomse, or form, is a detailed pattern of defense-and-attack motions and techniques used in traditional martial arts.
PalGwe forms (paal-gae), are a Korean series of patterns which closely resemble the original Okinawan Karate Kata. There are eight in total which typically bring a person to Black Belt rank upon their completion. All eight PalGwe trace a capital "I" pattern on the ground when they are performed.
