Toledo’s Ottawa Park Golf Course was established in 1899 by Toledo’s “father of golf” S.P. Jermain and was once called “the greatest natural public golf course in the world” by Harry Vardon.
Built in 1899, the Ottawa Park Golf course is the second oldest public course in the United States. The course had 9 holes until its expansion to 18 holes in 1920-1921. In 1922, Ottawa Park hosted the first U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship.
