11 wrz 2014 · As a BrE speaker, I'd say it was a party the next day, but a party on Monday. The next day, I did something. 'On the next day' is possible, but doesn't sound as natural. It's true that AmE omits 'on' before day names more readily than we do here - at least, news reports say that Congress voted for something Monday, where we have to say 'on Monday'.

Right, as jinti stated, R as an abbreviation for Thursday is possible but not so common. Actually, the first time I ever saw it was when I went to sign up for graduate courses, and I was born and raised here in the States!
20 kwi 2007 · "on/at Christmas" What is the difference between these two ? As I understand it, "at Christams" we say when we talk about the whole holiday. But when we want to indicate only one day we say "on the first day of Christmas" or "on Easter sunday" Am I right ?
