Your power steering pump has a pressure release valve/device to release excessive pressure during the pumps operation. An incorrect setting would cause your symptoms. Other then a faulty pump the rest of the system needs to be checked.
18 maj 2005 · The power steering pump just supplies fluid flow and pressure. It doesn't know what direction you are steering. So if your problem is in both steering directions, I judge that it is most likely your power steering pump that is causing the problem.
