Throwback uniforms, throwback jerseys, retro kits or heritage guernseys are sports uniforms styled to resemble the uniforms that a team wore in the past. One-time or limited-time retro uniforms are sometimes produced to be worn by teams in games, on special occasions such as anniversaries of significant events.
A throwback blue uniform set from the same era was unveiled in 2022, but with an alternate navy blue helmet and no alterations from the original look. In 2023, the alternate navy blue helmet was worn with the Color Rush uniform, though the team still wore all-white hosiery instead of blue.

In 1993 the Jets became the first NFL team to wear a "throwback" uniform, for a home game against the Cincinnati Bengals celebrating the 25th anniversary of the 1968 championship team.
