The MyPlate Plan* shows your food group targets – what and how much to eat within your calorie allowance. Your food plan is personalized, based on your: Age. Sex. Height. Weight. Physical activity level. To get started, click on the "Start" button. You can also find out your MyPlate Plan in Spanish.
Launched in 2011, MyPlate’s symbol is a simple visual reminder to choose a variety of foods throughout the day and throughout the week. It represents what and how much to eat from each of the food groups over the course of the day, whether you eat on a plate, from a bowl, or another way.
Start simple by choosing foods with less sodium. Check the Nutrition Facts label and choose foods with a lower percent (%) Daily Value (DV) for sodium on the label, especially if a family member has high blood pressure, diabetes, or kidney disease. Cook at home!
The MyPlate Plan shows your food group targets – what and how much to eat within your calorie allowance. Your plan is personalized, based on your age, sex, height, weight and physical activity level.
MyPlate. MyPlate replaced MyPyramid and the Food Guide Pyramid in 2011. MyPlate illustrates the five food groups as the building blocks for a healthy diet. Through the familiar mealtime visual of a plate and fork, MyPlate reminds people to think about this idea while eating.
MyPlate is the current nutrition guide published by the United States Department of Agriculture's Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion, and serves as a recommendation based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. [1]
