    The MyPlate Plan* shows your food group targets – what and how much to eat within your calorie allowance. Your food plan is personalized, based on your: Age. Sex. Height. Weight.   3. Launched in 2011, MyPlate’s symbol is a simple visual reminder to choose a variety of foods throughout the day and throughout the week. It represents what and how much to eat from each of the food groups over the course of the day, whether you eat on a plate, from a bowl, or another way.

  4. Focus on whole fruits. Start your day with fruit at breakfast. Top cereal with your favorite seasonal fruit, add bananas or chopped apples to pancakes, or mix a spoonful or two of raisins into hot oatmeal. Keep ready-to-eat fruits in the refrigerator for a quick snack.
