With modafinil it seems to weigh much more heavily in favor of enhancement, particularly for working memory tasks. I've tried both and don't really like either for day to day use. Adderall is useful for doing extremely boring tasks.
I am personally ADHD-PI and Adderall XR 30 mg @ one per day works perfectly for me. Modafinil on the other hand, I do take it on my off days. And as someone said it's more of a clarity of mind, and energy in a caffeine kind of way if you will.
