Though it's relatively easy for scammers to fake a phone number, the key difference here is that you indicate that you actually requested Microsoft to call and the information they provided regarding the ticket number was accurate as well, so the caller was clearly from within the Microsoft Support structure.
4 maj 2024 · It's definitely a scam, since Microsoft never includes phone numbers in their own valid security notifications, they would never 'lock-up' your computer, and there's no such thing as a threat detected on an IP address.
22 maj 2024 · The “Call Microsoft Support” scam starts with a fake pop-up alert pretending to be from Microsoft stating that malware or spyware was detected on your system by the Windows Firewall. The pop-up claims your data is at risk and provides a phone number to call for removal of the supposed infection.
