Biography. Mike Woods was one of the greatest distance skaters ever produced in the United States. In addition to his three Olympic appearances, Woods competed internationally from 1972, starting at the World Juniors, thru the 1984 season, in which he placed 12th in the World Championships, and second that year in the 10K.
