Lucid Absinthe Supérieure provides a balanced absinthe experience at a reasonable price and is available virtually everywhere. Because my reviews are done on an “apples to apples” basis, I can’t justifiably rate this the same as I would a more “premium” absinthe.
This cocktail-friendly absinthe is mild and herbaceous, hinting at fennel, lime peel, and a fresh hint of celery. Made with beet neutral spirits, it has a faint sweetness that plays around the edges. Light straw in the glass, louching to bright opalescent.

21 cze 2008 · First up is the French-made Lucid, which was the first major absinthe to hit U.S. store shelves after the FDA rules on wormwood in liquor began to loosen up last year. With its striking cats-eye bottle design, you can’t miss Lucid on the shelf. Pour a glass and you can’t miss the smell, either.
16 lut 2013 · The high concentration of alcohol (60-70% on average) is needed to preserve the herbal content and natural green color. Lucid starts out at 124 proof, but the traditional French manner of preparing absinthe lowers the alcohol content to approximately 30 proof for sipping purposes.
Lucid is a very anise forward Absinthe that I would rate somewhere as a 5 or 6 overall. It's a great introductory absinthe that will let you know if you'd ever want to consider perusing more and jumping down that rabbithole of accessories and paraphernalia.
