24 sty 2012 · Our GM Performance Parts LSX454 crate engine ran on the dyno today... we added a little twist to it for a project we're working on and gained awesome power - everywhere. Peak numbers were nice, but average torque was pretty stout for a street car with A/C, naturally aspirated!

Notably, that’s a 50-horsepower increase over Chevrolet Performance’s own ZZ572/720R drag race crate engine – an old-school big-block that, while it cranks out another 70 lb.-ft. over the LSX454R, comes up short on horsepower even with 26 percent more displacement.
Motor and trans went in fine, the only issue we really had was the harness supplied did not match the LS7 map sensor. We called the harness manufacture and they sent us a new pig tail, said it was a direct fit. The ECU came with a basic tune so we had an email tuner build us a performance map.
