The ARRL Antenna Book describes the general characteristics of Long Wire Antennas. Whether the long wire antenna is a single wire running in one direction or is formed into a 'v'. rhombic or some other configuration. there are certain general principles that apply and some performance features that are common to all types.
27 paź 2020 · This is part 1 of a 4 part video that discussed how to build and test a Multiband Long Wire Antenna, a 9:1 Unun, a 1:1 RF choke, and an Antenna Tuner.
I decided to build a homebrew antenna tuner because I needed a passive pre-selector network to match an experimental end-fed wire antenna to my QS1R SDR receiver.

27 lut 2024 · This wide-range tuner will match wire antennas, such as a vertical, random wire antenna, or a long wire antenna. It can also be used with coaxial-fed antennas, like an Inverted “V” or dipole. Also, the CHA URT1 does not need a transceiver-specific control cable, so it works with any brand or model of transceiver.
Use an insulated wire to connect to the copper wire at the end closest to your radio. Strip a couple inches of it and wrap it around the bare copper wire. For best results, solder this connection.
One common solution is to make the wire longer than 1/4 wavelength to raise the resistance closer to 50 ohms, then add a series capacitor to tune out the additional reactance. Another option is a “beta match”, a shunt coil across the coax at the feedpoint – this requires a slight readjustment of the antenna length for resonance.
