It is native to North America, where it can be found in northern Mexico and up to the Edwards Plateau region of Texas. [2] It is also grown as an ornamental grass.

Muhly is excellent in full sun and requires little water once established. It is a lovely ornamental grass and regionally appropriate for our gardens.
