While employment rate declined due to the weaker economic environment, Singapore maintained its high ranking (fourth in 2023) compared to countries in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

1.1 The report on the Labour Force in Singapore draws on data from the Comprehensive Labour Force Survey (CLFS). Unlike the Monthly Labour Force Surveys, the CLFS is run annually with a larger sample, longer survey duration, and measures a wider range of labour market indicators.
In this year’s report, we highlight the continued recovery of the resident labour force from the impact of the pandemic and assess the patterns of improvement in relation to longer-term structural trends.
