In the Republic of Korea, a resident registration number (RRN) (Korean: 주민등록번호; Hanja: 住民登錄番號; RR: jumin deungnok beonho) is a 13-digit number issued to all residents of South Korea regardless of nationality.

The 13-digit number with a dash in the middle of your ID card is your resident registration number. The first six digits are your birthday in YYMMDD format. So if you were born on October 30, 1983 the first six digits would be 831030.
