View Real ID Pricing. If you are renewing and updating a name or address on a credential, you will only be required to pay the renewal fee. Please be aware that drive.ky.gov is the ONLY official website for online driver's license renewals in Kentucky. Be cautious of third-party websites that charge fees and ask for your personal information.
A small processing fee will be collected for online renewals. (1.5% for debit cards and 2.75% for credit cards). If your application is not approved, your card will not be charged.
If you meet all the requirements above, you can follow these steps to renew online: Visit the Kentucky driver’s license renewal site. Apply for license renewal. Follow the online prompts. Pay the license renewal fee using a credit or debit card: 4-year validity: $21.50. 8-year validity: $43.00.
Pay the fee of $20.00. Note that if you are a non-U.S. citizen with an out-of-state driver’s license, you will have to take vision, written and road skills tests in Kentucky (It doesn’t apply to permanent residents and resident aliens, though).
