Things that counter Katarina are: I'd say as an ADC you need to cover at least 2 of those checkboxes to do well against Kata. Examples: Tristana, Vayne, Kai'Sa.
Veigar. Every single lane except Veigar and TF are counters in my opinion, but the hardest lanes are: Galio, Sylas, Yasuo, Fizz and Kassadin. (Leblanc is quite a hard matchup too, but I can usually manage her somehow). If they know what they are doing, there's is no way you can win these lanes.
But The real counters to Kat are in the support role. Rell, Leona, Blitzcrank, Nautilus, Soraka, Seraphine, Thresh and Alistar. Katarina does not get to play the game against these supports. It’s why we’ll never see her in pro play. She’s too easy to shut down with any amount of cc.
Garen, Pantheon, Sett are unplayable for Kat from mu experience vs her. Something that can burst early with a cc just stomps her. Even thought orianna shouldn't be a counter, she is extremely tanky and even when you engage her, avoiding her spells, you stills lose the trade. Fizz,tristana,vladimir,ekko.

10 sie 2021 · If kata doesn't get a kill she's useless. Coach curtis made a vid on how to counter katarina if you are interested. as yone, don't q3 forward and try to play reactively into kat. You dont need a kill, you just need to get to shieldbow. Yone will eventually outscale Kat, you just need to survivor until 2 items.
everyone talking about champs that counter kat, conversely, kat counters mages with long/telegraphed skillshots and lacking any mobility such as lux, veigar, taliyah, xerath, TF, karthus and to a lesser degree velkoz, brand, ziggs and viktor. anivia is a special case because her egg passive can really screw your all ins & resets over.

DS and Conqueror; Divine sunderer can give her a small amount of sustain and a cute burst, but more importantly, it has hybrid damage penetration% per legendary. Early game it has a nice touch of damage and pen, late game it becomes a mini Voidstaff.
