17 maj 2010 · To be really sure that everyone using a 1.5 or 1.4 JRE can run your code, you should probably do your production builds with a 1.5 or 1.4 JDK. I found these instructions very helpful on getting a "real" 1.5 and 1.4 JDK installed under snow leopard: http://codethought.com/blog/?p=233
28 gru 2017 · I'm trying to run a program (MultiWiiConf 2.4, last version now) on my Mac (Sierra 10.12.6) but it won't launch and error No compatible version of java 1.5 is available is raised. Then, after searching the web, I checked Java parameters and I have version 9.0.1 installed.
For production use Oracle recommends downloading the latest JDK and JRE versions and allowing auto-update. Only developers and Enterprise administrators should download these releases. Downloading these releases requires an oracle.com account.
