The Eastern Region of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. was created in a re-organization of two other regions, the Mid-Atlantic region (PA, DE, MD, D.C.) and the Southeast region (VA, NC, and SC) Initially, DE, MD, D.C., VA, and NC joined the newly created Eastern Region in 2003.

Beta Alpha Omega has established 2 yearly scholarships given out to area male, graduating seniors from Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, Loudoun, Stafford, Spotsylvania, or Prince William County, VA high School and plans to attend a community college, 4yr College or University.
The Beta Alpha Omega chapter was chartered on July 16, 2006, by alumni brothers to serve the communities in the Northern VA region. Since that time many influential Iota men have been a part of this chapter and made a lasting impact.
A complete overhaul of the IOTA protocol and node software with much improved stability, throughput and usability.
