The West Virginia Insurance Commission, is the state agency that regulates the insurance industry and charged with overseeing the practices of insurance companies and protect the interests of policyholders and public.
Licensing and Education is responsible for processing and maintaining records on insurance licensees licensed to transact business in West Virginia. These licensees include residents who must complete educational and testing requirements to obtain a license.

22 wrz 2021 · Allan McVey is the West Virginia Commissioner of Insurance. McVey assumed office on September 22, 2021. McVey's current term ends on January 13, 2025. McVey was appointed to the position by Governor Jim Justice (R), to fill the vacancy created by James Dodrill 's resignation. [1]
Allan L. McVey was appointed West Virginia Insurance Commissioner by Governor Jim Justice on March 21, 2017. He was then appointed by the Governor to serve as Cabinet Secretary of the West Virginia Department of Administration in January 2019.
